Red Lobster Shrimp Scampi Recipe
What is shrimp scampi?
Shrimp scampi is a popular dish served in Red Lobster, which includes juicy shrimp cooked in creamy buttery garlic spiced gravy and served with linguine.
Ingredients For Shrimp Scampi:
- Shrimp: I have used fresh Shrimp here in this recipe but you can use frozen pre-cleaned shrimp too. Use small-sized shrimp for this recipe. You can always go for medium/large shrimp too as they will be juicier.
- Italian Seasoning Mix: You can go for store-bought Italian Seasoning or use my homemade combination of Italian Seasoning mix. I have used a blend of Basil, Oregano, Thyme, Garlic, Onion, and Rosemary.
- Parmesan: This recipe's most crucial ingredient gives the final dish an amazing flavor.
- Butter + Olive Oil: I have used a combination of butter and olive oil in this recipe. If you do not wish to use olive oil or butter entirely, skip it and instead use what you like, maybe just vegetable oil, plain olive oil, or simply butter.
- Linguine / Angel Hair Pasta: What pasta is to be used in this recipe is entirely up to you. Whatever pasta you have in your pantry you can use it.
- Chicken Stock / Dry White Wine: The recipe that is mostly used is dry white wine but I have not used it instead I have used chicken stock. You can use vegetable stock too.

Tips to make homemade shrimp scampi:
- When you are prepping the dish, keep the pasta cooking, so that by the time you are done gathering all the ingredients for the final dish, you will have the pasta ready.
- keeping the shrimp cleaned in the freezer helps to sort out this recipe.
- Store-bought frozen shrimp will work fine but the taste of fresh shrimp gives a great taste and freshly cleaned shrimp will be tastier.
- Refrain from overcooking the shrimp, as the shrimp gets very chewy.
- When adding butter to the pan, reduce the heat. Adding butter at high heat will separate the fat in the butter.
- Ensure you do not burn the garlic, as burnt garlic makes the dish bitter.
What can I use instead of wine in the shrimp scampi recipe?
I have made this classic shrimp scampi without wine. Instead, used chicken stock, and trust me this recipe is equally good when stock is added instead of wine.
But if you have Wine in your diet, you can go for Chardonnay or Pinot Grigio.
What to serve with Shrimp Scampi?
You can serve shrimp scampi over pasta, rice, or on a side of salad of your choice. You can also dip bread in the sauce and enjoy!

Heat the sauce with shrimp on the lowest heat, but if you like cold shrimp then enjoy without heating.
