This honey butter chicken is amazingly easy, delicious and under 15mins you can fix dinner and enjoy this with rice.
This recipe works with chicken thighs or chicken breasts too.
Using chicken thighs works best as the thigh meat won't be dry and chewy, but the chicken breast meat will be chewy if overcooked.
This recipe of honey butter garlic chicken calls for a quick sauce made of browned butter, honey, lemon juice, and garlic.
Honey butter sauce is a mix of very easily available ingredients in your pantry, which makes this recipe very easy and fix a side to your meal that everyone will love.

What goes into the delicious honey butter sauce?
The simple ingredients that go in this sauce are here:- Butter
- Honey
- Garlic
- Dried Parsley
- Lemon Juice
- Hot Sauce
- Cilantro
- Red Pepper Flakes
To make this sauce, just mix together all the ingredients except butter. When the butter is cooked and caramelized then further add the sauce mix to it and cook till sauce turns slightly thick.

How to brown the chicken?
To get the chicken browned perfectly, first heat the cast iron pan.Make sure the pan is hot enough so that when you add the chicken to the pan it will start with browning the edges of the chicken soon.
How to make the honey butter chicken?
Step1: Marinate the chicken pieces with salt, pepper powder. Keep this aside.
Step2: In a cup add honey, hot sauce, lemon juice, parsley, 1/2 of cilantro, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Mix well to make the sauce.


Step3: Heat a cast iron pan till its hot, add oil and butter to the pan, and let it start to bubble.
Add chicken pieces to the pan and cook the chicken for 2 minutes or 3 minutes till the edges of the chicken are browned.

Step4: Next add the sauce mix to the pan and bring the heat to a medium such as the sauce does not burn. Cook the chicken covered in the sauce for another 5 minutes.
Check that sauce has thickened, then switch off the heat and serve the chicken with rice or your favorite side.

Tips to make the honey butter garlic chicken:
- Do not overcook the chicken as it will make the chicken chewy and dry.
- Chicken thigh meat is juicier than breast meat so that should be ideally used in this recipe.
- You can always adjust the heat level in the sauce by skipping red pepper flakes and hot sauce.
- If you like to try then using shrimp or even salmon in this recipe will taste great too. But remember not to overcook.

Ingredients:
- 2 Cup Chicken, thigh meat, bite-size pieces
- 1 tsp Salt (Or more as per need)
- 3/4 tsp Black Pepper Powder
- 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
- 4 Tbsp Butter, unsalted
- 6 Garlic, cloves, minced
- 5 Tbsp Honey
- 2 Tbsp Cilantro, chopped
- 1 tsp Parsley, dried
- 3 Tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1 Tbsp Hot Sauce
- 1/4 tsp Red Pepper Flakes
- 2 Tbsp Green Onion, chopped(For garnish)
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, add chicken pieces, salt and pepper powder.
- Mix well and keep this aside.
- In a cup add honey, lemon juice, dried parsley, 1/2 of chopped cilantro, hot sauce, and red pepper flakes. Mix this well and keep aside.
- Heat a cast-iron pan, when it's hot enough add olive oil and butter.
- Let the butter-oil come start to bubble, add the chicken pieces carefully, making sure that the butter mix does not splatter.
- Let the heat on slightly above medium and cook the chicken till the chicken starts to brown on the edges. This should take 2 to 3 mins.
- Then lower the heat and add the sauce mixture and mix well to coat the chicken.
- Bring the heat up to medium or even slightly more, and let the chicken cook for another few minutes.
- Make sure you do not overcook the chicken to avoid getting the chicken dry and chewy.
- You will notice the sauce has slightly thickened, switch off the heat(as the sauce will thicken after the chicken has cooled).
- Serve the chicken on side of rice or mashed potatoes.
Notes:
Do not overcook the chicken. Preferably use chicken thigh meat as it won't get dry and hard if you happen to overcook it.
Before adding sauce to the pan cook chicken till the edges get slightly brown.
Adjust the sauce as per your personal liking. I have added hot sauce and red pepper flakes to give some spice to the sauce but you can skip this if you do not like spicy sauce.
You can use fresh parsley chopped instead of dried parsley flakes.
