Everyone loves the famous Chinese takeout noodle dish - Shrimp Lo Mein. This shrimp lo mein recipe is better than a restaurant, ready in under 30 minutes, with stir-fried vegetables and an amazing sauce.

What is shrimp lo mein?
Lo mein is a stir-fry dish made with egg noodles, a protein of your choice, vegetables, and homemade sauce!
You can use egg noodles or any other noodles of your choice, also vegetables can be anything you like such as carrot, cabbage, spring onion, mushrooms, snow peas, etc.

How to make shrimp lo mein
Step 1: Marinate shrimp with salt, and a pinch of black pepper powder.
Step 2: Bring a pot of water to a boil, add the noodles and once the noodles are cooked, drain the noodles and toss the noodles with little oil. Keep aside.
Step 3: Mix the sauce ingredients and keep aside.
Step 4: In a wok, add oil. When the oil is hot, add garlic and ginger, and saute till soft and fragrant.
Add cabbage, carrot, bell peppers, and spring onion white, and saute for a minute.
Step 2: Bring a pot of water to a boil, add the noodles and once the noodles are cooked, drain the noodles and toss the noodles with little oil. Keep aside.
Step 3: Mix the sauce ingredients and keep aside.

Step 5: Add shrimp to the wok and saute for another minute.
Adjust salt and pepper, add sauce, and mix well.

Step 7: Add spring onion greens, toss well and serve.
Tips to make the recipe for shrimp lo mein
- Do not overcook the noodles, as the noodles gets cooked further in the wok.
- You can use fresh noodles found in Asian markets or use dried noodles.
- Use medium-sized fresh shrimp as they have a ton of flavor.
- Leftover shrimp lo mein can be refrigerated for up to 3 days. Reheat the leftover lo mein noodles in a pan or microwave.
- You can swap out shrimp for any other protein you choose, like chicken, tofu, or any other protein.
- Keep the sauce mixed and veggies chopped before you start as that makes the cooking very quick.
- Toss the ingredients on high heat to get the restaurant-style flavor and texture for the final dish.
