  • Shrimp: Use preferably fresh shrimp. Use fresh, firm, medium size shrimp. 

  • Shrimp marinade: Its very simple,just mix the spices for the marinade and apply to shrimp and keep aside for few minutes.

  • Cabbage Slaw:  This is the easiest and best slaw you can make for tacos.

  • Sweet n Sour Cream:  Just mix together some basic ingredients and enjoy this amazing taco sauce.

How to make Shrimp Tacos


Cabbage Slaw for Shrimp Tacos


The most amazing and easy slaw that goes with all kinds of tacos that you can try.


Simple ingredients, in a bowl,add shredded cabbage, cilantro, thinly sliced onion,black pepper powder,honey,red chili powder and lime juice. Done! so easy right?

How to cook shrimp for tacos?


  • To cook shrimp,firstly peel and devein the shrimp,wash and dry them.

  • Apply the shrimp taco marinade to the shrimp,rub well on the shrimp to marinate shrimp. Keep aside for 10 mins.

  • Heat skillet,add some oil to the skillet and the skillet get hot.

  • Arrange the shrimp in single layer on the skillet and cook for 2 to 3 mins,turn them to get even cooking.(as shown in picture 1 and 2)

  • Once they turn pink and cooked well,do not over cook them or they will turn rubbery,keep aside and serve over tacos.

  • Cook shrimp for 2 to 3 mins or if you still feel you need little more firm shrimp them may be a minute more but do not overcook as they will be chewy.

  • Serve the shrimp immediately as they taste best when freshly cooked. So keep everything ready before frying the shrimp.

  • The slaw will start leaving juices,so mix the slaw when you are going to fill the tacos.

  • To make the taco sauce more spicier or sweet,adjust the quantity of hot sauce and honey accordingly.

  • For Spicy Shrimp:
  • 20 Medium Shrimp,peeled,deveined
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin,ground
  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne Red Pepper Powder
  • 1 tsp Lime Juice
  • 1/4 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
  • For Cabbage Cilantro Slaw:
  • 1 Cup Cabbage,shredded
  • 1/4 Cup Red Onion,thinly sliced
  • 2 Tbsp Cilantro,chopped
  • a pinch salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Lime Juice
  • 1/4 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Honey
  • For Taco Sauce:
  • 1 Tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp Honey Mustard
  • 1 Tbsp Greek Yogurt/ Sour Cream
  • 1 Tbsp Honey
  • 1 Tbsp Frank's Red Hot Sauce
  • a pinch Salt
  • Extra:
  • 4, 6 Inch Mission Soft Taco Flour Tortillas/ Corn Tortilla
  • chopped cilantro for garnish
  • lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. To make the taco sauce, mix together mayonnaise,honey,honey mustard,sour cream and Frank's Hot Sauce. Keep aside.
