The sauces that go with these  fried chicken tacos are so easy to put together and give an amazing balance of flavors in your mouth! Yummm right!


These two sauce recipes that I will share here are Chipotle  Crema and Honey Chili Sauce.

The Honey Chili Sauce is very easy to put together with very basic ingredients easily available in your pantry and you will just love it!

What are the ingredients used to make Crispy Chicken Taco?


  • Chicken Tenders: Use Chicken Breast meat to make the crispy Chicken tenders. 
  • Here the chicken is marinated in buttermilk mix and the more you marinate better flavor chicken gets.

  • Slaw Mix: Use any vegetables of your choice to make the slaw mix of your choice. 
  • I have used Shredded Cabbage and sliced Onion here.But you can also use carrot,Green/Red Bell pepper too.

  • Honey Chili Sauce: This is the easiest sauce mix to make . You can whip up this sauce any time to serve over your favorite taco/wrap or salads too.

  • Chipotle Crema: Another amazing sauce you can use in this recipe to make the entire taco flavors so amazing.

How to make Best Crispy Chicken Tenders?


Follow this recipe to make the best,cheap and easy homemade fried buttermilk chicken tenders.

  • Use Chicken Breast meat to make the crispy chicken tenders.

  • Clean and cut the chicken breast into 3 Inch long strips and 1 Inch thick. Make sure they are dry.

  • In a bowl add the chicken strips ,salt,buttermilk,cayenne pepper,paprika,garlic powder,onion powder.

  • Mix well and refrigerate for 15 mins to get the chicken the flavors mingled.

  • In another bowl add the ingredients for breading such as flour,baking powder,salt,paprika,cumin,onion powder,garlic powder,oregano and mix well.

  • In a third bowl add the Eggs and whisk well with fork and keep aside.

  • Take the chicken out of refrigerator,with a pair of tongs or fork dip each piece in flour mix,coat the chicken well with flour,shake off the excess flour.

  • Next dip the chicken piece in egg and coat well,finally dip the chicken piece once more in flour mix and coat well.

  • Shake off excess flour from the chicken.Repeat this for all the chicken pieces and then arrange them on a plate ready to fry.

  • Next heat the oil in a deep frying pan/skillet,with oil enough to submerge the chicken pieces.

  • To check if oil is perfectly hot drop a small chicken piece in oil and once it comes back on top of the oil immediately after dropping it ,that means the oil is hot enough.

  • Make sure you not overheat the oil or else the chicken will burn and remain uncooked inside.

  • Drop the chicken strips in batches in oil. Make sure you do not overcrowd the pan.

  • Cook till the chicken is brown and cooked well. Drain and keep the chicken pieces on a wire rack to cool off.

  • You have the best and easy homemade crispy chicken tenders at home!


How to make perfect crispy fried chicken tenders


How do you get the breadcrumbs / flour mix to stick to the Chicken?


Best way to get the breadcrumbs or flour mix to stick to the chicken strips is first dipping the buttermilk marinated chicken strips in flour,shake off excess,then dip in egg mix.

Drop any excess egg mix,then drop again in flour and press with hands to get the flour or breadcrumbs coat tightly to the chicken.


How to keep the Fried Chicken crispy? How to avoid the Chicken from getting soggy?

  1. Arrange all the bowls ahead of time before starting to breading.
  2. Shake off excess flour first then dip in egg mix,but do not soak it for long. Just dip the chicken pieces and take out,then dip again in flour or breadcrumbs.
  3. Press with hands to coat the chicken well.
  4. DO NOT keep the chicken pieces after breading them immediately fry them or the chicken will be soggy again.
  5. DO NOT refrigerate the chicken pieces after breading too.
  6. Make sure the oil is perfectly hot,if its not hot enough then the chicken pieces will sink in the oil and chicken wont be crispy.
  7. Always cook on medium heat till the outer cover is golden brown.
  8. Drain the chicken pieces well on a wire rack and DO NOT use a kitchen tissue/paper towel to drain chicken,this will make it soggy.
  9. Consume the chicken immediately as moisture in the air will make the chicken pieces soggy if you leave it out for a long time. 


How to make Honey Chili Sauce?


This Honey Chili Sauce is the easiest and Best Ever sauce you will make and its a keeper!


All you need to do is in a mixing bowl add honey,salt,sriracha,onion powder,garlic powder,cumin and tomato ketchup.


Mix well and your sauce is ready! Enjoy this sauce not only on taco but on wraps and salads too!

How to make Chicken Tacos?

  • To arrange the ingredients and make the final chicken taco you need to first arrange the 6" tortilla.

  • Use either flour or corn tortilla as per your preference.

  • I have used flour tortilla here.

  • Place a large lettuce leaf, then place the fried chicken tender.

  • Next add the slaw mix,shredded cabbage and onion. You can add whatever choice of shredded vegetables you like.

  • Next add the chipotle creama and finally the honey chili sauce.

  • To enjoy the best chicken taco, always refrigerate the sauces and use the chicken while it is hot and crispy.

  • Enjoy the warm tortilla with crispy hot fried chicken tenders and cool sauces! yumm!

Make These Best Crispy Chicken Tacos for Dinner
Best ever Crispy Fried Chicken Tacos you can try at home which are served with not one but two amazing sauces you can make at home and devour the final warm tortilla wrapped around hot Crispy Fried Chicken Tenders with lettuce,shredded onion ,honey chili sauce and Chipotle Crema!

Ingredients

  • 6, 6" Flour Tortillas
  • 1/3 Cup Cabbage Shredded
  • 1/4 Cup Onion Sliced
  • 6 Lettuce Leaves or Chopped
  • For Marinating:
  • 6-8 Chicken Breast,cut into strips,3-4 Inch long and 1/2-1 Inch thick
  • 1 Cup Buttermilk
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
  • For Breading:
  • 2 Cup Flour
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Oregano
  • For Egg Mix:
  • 2 Eggs,whisked with fork
  • For Honey Chili Sauce:
  • 1/4 Cup Honey
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Sriracha Chili Hot Sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin
  • 1/2 Tbsp Tomato Ketchup
  • For Garnish:
  • Lemon Wedges
  • Cilantro Chopped

  • Oil for frying


Instructions

  1. Clean and pat dry the chicken strips.
    Marinate the chicken with buttermilk mix and refrigerate for atleast 15 mins.
    The more you marinate the better flavor chicken gets.
  2. Heat oil in a deep frying pan, around 2 inch deep enough to submerge the chicken pieces.
    Make sure the oil is not very hot or else the chicken will burn and inside it will be raw.
  3. In a bowl mix the breading mix ready, in next bowl whisk the eggs and keep aside.
    Dip the chicken pieces in flour and coat the pieces with flour mix,shake off excess flour then dip in egg mix.
    Do not soak the chicken pieces in egg mix for long or it will get soggy.
  4. Let the extra egg mix drop from the chicken pieces then coat again with flour mix and press with hands to coat well.
    Slowly drop the chicken pieces in the oil and fry till golden brown and crisp.
    Once you drop the chicken pieces they will rise immediately in oil that means the oil is hot.
    Always fry on medium heat.
    If the chicken pieces sink after dropping in oil that means the oil is not hot enough.
  5. Always drain the chicken pieces on a wire rack and not on kitchen paper towels.
    In a bowl whisk ingredients for honey chili sauce and and anothet bowl keep the chipotle crema ready.

  6. To arrange,place a warmed tortilla wrap,place lettuce,chicken tenders,slaw mix,honey chili sauce and chipotle crema.
    Enjoy!
