Honey Garlic Shrimp Recipe:
The best flavors of this dish will come out when you use fresh shrimp and medium sized one's.
But if you get pre-cleaned frozen shrimp then still go ahead and use them,you will save on cleaning time of shrimp.
I have used medium sized fresh shrimp in this recipe.
The sauce along with Shrimp,Broccoli and Scallions make an amazing dish to go with rice.

Tips to make Honey Garlic Shrimp Stir Fry Recipe:
- Preferably use fresh shrimp for best taste results. But if you are not able to find the right shrimp for this recipe then use pre-cleaned frozen shrimp.
- To thaw the frozen shrimp,keep them in the refrigerator section for few hours prior to cooking.This way the shrimp will thaw well.
- If you love spicy food then go ahead and add some paprika or chili flakes in the recipe.
- Keep the tail on or off the shrimp as per personal choice.
- Use fresh ingredients like garlic,ginger and not from store bought packs/jars. Fresh ingredients always get the best in any recipe.
- Do not overcook the shrimp as it turns rubbery if cooked for a long time and looses its taste.
- Sauce is very good in this recipe,do not toss it away.Its so good when mixed with rice or eaten with bread too.
- Keep everything ready before you start. This makes the cooking time very less.

Shrimp: Fresh or Frozen Shrimp,anything works best in this recipe.
You can keep the tail on or off as per wish.
Honey: The most important ingredient in making the sauce for this dish.Gives so much flavor and makes this recipe amazing.
Garlic + Ginger: When fresh garlic and ginger is added to the sauce,the taste is so amazing.Plus when it is used to marinate shrimp makes them more flavorful.
Broccoli + Scallions: Use any vegetable of your choice if you want to add in this recipe. I have used Broccoli and Scallions.
Butter + Olive Oil: The combination of broccoli and olive oil is amazing and enhances the flavor of sauce so much. If you like butter in your food then add little more butter to get that extra flavor.
Honey Garlic Shrimp Sauce:
The sauce used in this recipe is very good. You can just dip a bread and eat it too.
The sauce is made of:
- Honey
- Soy Sauce
- Ginger
- Garlic
- Black Pepper Powder
- Lemon Juice
How to make / Steps to make Easy Honey Garlic Shrimp Recipe:
- First if you are using fresh shrimp then clean them well,devein and peel the shells off.
- Either keep the tail on or off as per personal preference.
- In a mixing bowl, add minced garlic,minced ginger,honey,soy sauce,lemon juice,pepper powder. Mix well and keep aside.
- Add the cleaned shrimp to a bowl,add 1/3rd of the sauce mix and refrigerate for 10 to 15 mins. The more you keep it marinated the better taste to shrimp.
- Steam the broccoli with dash of salt and little pepper powder mixed.
- In a pan,add the butter and olive oil, arrange all the marinated shrimp in a single layer in the pan along with broccoli.
- Cook them by turning them for 30-40 seconds. Then keep them aside.
- Discard the marinade.
- In the same pan add the remaining sauce mix and cook for a minute till it slightly cooks and thickens, then add the shrimp,broccoli,scallion greens.
- Cook this further for 40 to 50 seconds till done.
- Serve with rice or just bread.

Ingredients
- 0.5 lb Shrimp,medium,cleaned,deveined
- For Sauce:
- 1/4 Cup Organic Honey
- 3 Tbsp Low Sodium Soy Sauce
- 2 Tbsp minced Garlic
- 2 Tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1 Tbsp minced Ginger
- 1/2 tsp Black Pepper Powder
- Extra:
- 2 Tbsp Butter
- 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 Cup Broccoli,florets,steamed
- 2 Spring Onion/Scallion,green,2 Inch long cut
- As per need Salt
Instructions
- Clean the Shrimp,peel of the shell,devein.
Keep the tail on or off. - In a mixing bowl, add the ingredients for sauce and mix well.
In a ziploc bag or container/bowl,add the shrimp and add 1/3rd of the sauce mix.
Refrigerate for 10 to 15 mins. - In a pan,add olive oil and butter,add the marinated shrimp in a single layer,discard the marinade.
Add the steamed broccoli along with shrimp and cook turning the sides for 40seconds. - Take them off the pan.
Add the remaining 2/3rd sauce mix to thepan and cook it for sometime till the sauce slightly thickens. - Add the shrimp,broccoli and scallion greens to sauce,cook further for another 40 to 50 seconds.
- Adjust salt.
Serve immediately with rice or side of your choice.
Prep Time: 00:15:00 mins.
Total time: 20 mins.

ReplyDeleteI doubled the recipe and added red bell pepper slices. This recipe was super delicious and very easy. I did have to thicken the sauce with a slurry (1/4 c corn starch and water).
