A new post for spicy chicken lovers...my Spicy Chicken Curry!
This chicken curry is an absolute delight to all chicken lovers...as its quick and yumm!

We are a complete carnivore's...we love fish and chicken! We can eat fish and chicken for breakfast,lunch and dinner.
Somehow, I have to make sure that food is always fragrant and yummy...also it should not be monotonous.
So, I have to come up everyday with some recipe to suit everyone's taste and consume all the groceries too.

This time I made this quick and delicious chicken gravy...which is easy and yummy to eat.
It will make others wonder that you must have done so much masala grinding to make it taste better but it's super simple and easy to make!

I made this gravy along with Pav/Bread...do try my recipe of kadak Goan Pav/Une!

Spicy Chicken Curry
Ingredients
  • 500 gms Chicken,washed and cut into pieces,with bones
  • For marination:
  • Salt as per need
  • 1 & 1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 & 1/2 Tablespoon Red Chilli Powder
  • 2 Tablespoon Yogurt
  • 2 Tablespoon Ginger-Garlic Paste
  • For Masala:
  • 1 Large Onion,sliced
  • 1 Large Tomato,sliced
  • 2 Tablespoon Oil
  • Additional:
  • 2 Nos Bay leaves
  • 4,crushed along with skin Green Cardamoms
  • 6 Nos Black Peppercorns
  • 6 Cloves
  • 3 Cinnamon stick,1"
  • 2 Tablespoons + little more as per need Oil
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1 Teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Malvani Masala / or any other chicken Masala Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoon Grated Coconut
  • 2 Sprigs Cilantro,finely chopped
Instructions
Wash the chicken and marinate it with things mentioned under marination.(Assuming that you are using chicken which is skinless and cut into pieces with bones)
Let this chicken sit aside for 15 minutes to 1/2 an hour.
In a wide pan,add oil.
When its hot add tomato and onion.
Fry them till they are brown.
When cooled grind them to a smooth paste adding little water.
In the same pan,add oil and when its hot add all the dry whole spices(bayleaf,green cardamom,peppercorns,cloves,cinnamon).
Fry these for some time.
Then add the onion-tomato paste.
Again fry this lowering the heat for sometime.
Add marinated chicken to this,add sufficient water to this and let it cook.
Adjust salt.
In a mixer-grinder,grind the grated coconut to a fine paste.
Add this to the cooking chicken.
Add sugar ,coriander powder,malvani masala,garam masala.
Cover and cook on medium flame.
Till the chicken is cooked well.
Add cilantro.
Serve this gravy with pav!

Tips:
  • If you want the gravy to be more spicy then add red chilies when grinding masala or more red chili powder.
  • You can make it more spicy by increasing the quantity of malvani masala too.
  • Try my recipe of Malvani Masala.
  • If you cannot find malvani masala then add little kitchen king masala along with chicken curry masala. These are readily available in MDH or Everest Brand too.
