Jeera Rice / Peas Pulao



A new post for all veggie lovers...Jeera Rice/ Peas Pulao!!...
So many types in one dish ha...Yes....I want to call this dish as Jeera Rice/Peas Pulao..as it's All In One!!

This is a very easy rice recipe,which is easy to make and goes very well with any sides/gravy's.
You can make this rice in a jiffy and pair it with any dry or gravy dishes of your choice and you are sorted!

I prepared Paneer Schezwan Dry with this dish...I shall post this recipe soon too.

Jeera Rice Peas Pulao Vegetarian Rice

Jeera Rice /
Ingredients
  • 1 Cup Basmati Rice. wash and keep soaked for 15 mins
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1 & 1/2 Teaspoon Sugar
  • 2 Bay Leaves
  • 6 Cloves
  • 1, broken into pieces 1/2 " Cinnamon Stick
  • 2 Green Cardamom
  • 4 Tablespoons Ghee / Clarified Butter
  • 1 Tablespoon Garlic,chopped (Optional)
  • 10 Raisins
  • 10 Cashewnuts,halved
  • 2 Tablespoons Jeera / Cumin Seeds
  • a Handful Greenpeas
  • Milk,little (Optional)
  • 6 Black Peppercorns
  • 1 Small Onion,chopped
Instructions
Wash and keep aside basmati rice for 15 minutes.
Cook rice with little oil till its 90% done.
Drain and refrigerate it for 1 hour.
In a pan add,ghee,bayleaves,cloves,peppercorns,cinnamon,jeera.
Fry for sometime till it leaves aroma of fried spices.
Then add raisins,garlic,onion,cashewnuts and green peas and fry for some more time.
To this add cooked rice,lower the flame,add salt and sugar to it.
Toss the rice with rest of the mixture.
Sprinkle little milk on top,close with lid and on sim let it cook for 5 minutes.
Serve with Gravy or Side of your choice.
