This is a dessert, sweet dish that every household loves....either with Chapati,Roti or a Bowl full as it is...Shrikhand!!!
Yes...I made Elaichi Shrikhand with lots of dry fruits :)

Today is my kiddo's B'day!!! :) :) My kid turned 3!!! Cant believe years pass by so soon :)

This time as I wanted to make this along Jalebi for her Bday as her recent love for sweet's is Jalebi!!

This shrikhand was super quick ,no hassles,no mess and yummy...since made at home so healthy and you can have 8 servings from a container of 907gms of thick yogurt.

We gulped it as it is but it can go very well with puri and chapati :)

Try this and enjoy it for any occasion!!

Ingredients:
  • 1 Container of Yogurt (907gms)
  • 3/4 Cup Sugar (you can add more or less as per your choice)
  • 1 Tsp Elaichi/Cardamom Fine Powder
  • 1 Tsp Roughly Crushed Elaichi/Cardamom
  • 1/4 Cup Dry Fruits Chopped (I used Almonds,Black Raisins,Cashew nuts)
Additional:
  • Muslin Cloth /Cheesecloth

Method:
  • In a  muslin cloth, pour the yogurt. Tie a knot around the cloth, to make sure the yogurt does not spill.
  • Hang the tied cloth with yogurt to the kitchen sink tap so that all the water from yogurt has drained out.
  • Keep it for around 2- 3 hrs.
  • Transfer the hung curd left in the cloth to a bowl.

  • Add cardamom powder and crushed cardamom.
  • Beat it with spoon so that the grainy texture is gone and it will turn to soft and silky texture. This should take around 3 mins.

  • Add sugar to this and beat it till sugar is dissolved. Check for the taste and add more sugar.
  • This will take around 5-6 mins.
  • Add dry fruits and mix well.
  • Serve chilled and enjoy!!

Tips:
  • I have used approximately 3/4 Cup sugar, as I like shrikhand semi sweet. You can adjust the sugar quantity as per choice.
  • Do not over beat it as it might start giving some oily texture for the shrikhand.
