Chocolate Marble Cake - Dump Cake Recipe

This post is an update of my earlier post of Vanilla Chocolate Marble Cake.
I am updating the recipe and the pictures here.😊

So I didn't bake any cake for a long time now, I think it's been a month now.😞 My last bake was in early  Feb when I baked a wonderful cake for my Anniversary,I still need to share that recipe but somehow I keep forgetting it. This is what happens when I have so much on my plate in my To-Do list and somehow that list is never ending!
Finally, yesterday I baked this awesome Chocolate Marble Cake. This recipe was already there on my blog for a long time but I wanted to make a easier version of my earlier recipe since that was quite long process and this recipe is super fast. Just you need to dump everything in a bowl, whisk well so that no -lumps are formed and everything mixed well and pop it in oven ! That's it.
Also I am updating the pictures here as my old pictures were no so good so I wanted to update most of my recipes which I am still doing.

Tea-time is as troubling as lunch or dinner fixes.I always wonder what to snack on for tea-time. There are few bakeries in India, usually where you will get such wonderful snacks which you cannot skip but since I cannot get a snack every other time from my favorite Bakery, I try to bake a cookie or cake. Check my wonderful recipe of homemade Nankatai. Its just melt's in mouth.
Readers who tried that recipe of mine sent me an overwhelming response and pics of Nankatai. Thank you so much.

One of my readers had asked me ,as how to make a perfect marble design on cake. I really do not follow any specific steps for that. Here all I did that first layer chocolate . Then I add vanilla layer and so alternate between two layers. Finally take a spatula/spoon or knife and run through the batter and create zigzag pattern on cake.
Its that simple right! This recipe is with eggs. If you want a Eggless recipe then I will make that too.
Baking time of every recipe actually varies. I sometimes use a Cooking range oven/Conventional and sometimes Microwave Convection oven.
So you need to adjust the cooking time accordingly.
If in this recipe you still want to go Eggless them try adding for each egg 1/4th Cup yogurt and see how it works. I will still try another recipe of Eggless Marble cake and share with you.

Chocolate Marble Cake - Dump Cake Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 & 1/4th Cup, Maida / APF, Spooned and Leveled
  • 1/2 Teaspoon,Salt
  • 3/4th Cup,Powdered White Sugar
  • 2 , Large Eggs
  • 1 Tablespoon, Vanilla
  • 1/2 Cup, Salted Butter,softened
  • 2 Teaspoons,Baking Powder
  • 1/4th Cup, Hot Water
  • 1/4th Cup,Milk,at room temperature
  • 2 Tablespoons,Cocoa Powder

Instructions

Preheat oven at 325F or 160C.
In a large mixing bowl, add all the ingredients mentioned except cocoa powder.

Now with hand mixer or whisker, mix everything well till fluffy and light.
Make sure there are no-lumps in batter.

Line a 9" Loaf pan with nonstick spray or Parchment Paper.
Divide the batter into two parts.

To one part add the cocoa powder and mix well.
Start layering the batter in loaf pan.

First add the chocolate layer then the vanilla layer.
Alternating between the layers pour all the batter.

With a knife or spoon make random zigzag pattern on batter.
Bake the cake for 45 Mins or till the cake is done and a toothpick/knife comes out clean.

Let it cool completely before cutting.
Enjoy!

Yield: 10
Prep Time: 00:08:00 mins.
Cook time: 00:45:00 mins.

You need to cut it once its completely cooled ,that would give nice cut for cake without getting messy pieces, but anyways when you have a nice pieces of cake who cares how the cut is!

Here I used first layer as chocolate and then added the vanilla layer,so and so forth so this got mainly a chocolate cake look with vanilla patten in between. You can instead add first layer as vanilla and then add chocolate to form the pattern. That way the cake gets a vanilla cake looks with chocolate pattern.

Do not try to bake it quickly if you are very excited to have delicious cake and increase the baking temperature. Bake the cake at mentioned temperature. If you want a flat top cake instead of cracked and slightly inclined then tent the cake top with a aluminum foil and bake it.

tips:

  • Tap the cake tin on kitchen counter after you have poured the batter in it,to release air bubbles.
  • Please adjust baking time as per your oven temperatures.

Enjoy!

    1. Prasanna, the cake didnt come out as in pictures at all. I feel i should have worked my usual way of making butter, sugar and eggs fluffy first. The cake didnt rise much and texure doesnt look like your pictures. I followed your recipe as is, where could I go wrong?

      1. Oh Thats unsual but I would say try beating egg and sugar first then .Make it fluffy then add flour in batches.See if that works. Actually this cake workds perfectly fine this way.I got messages from few people who got it right.anyways you can try your way instead of dumping everything in pan.
