From my earlier posts,most of you must have noticed that I make lot of breakfast dishes...yes...this is another one, filling and super tasty!!

I  had prepared dosa for breakfast and had lot of batter remaining so used that batter to make these yummy uttapams.
The basic recipe is straightforward,all you need is dosa batter to make these,further alterations are as per your taste.

I had these cheesy uttapams for breakfast in an Udupi restaurant, on our short trip last year. Well, loved the way they tasted and they served with Garlic Chutney....I too served this to my family with Garlic Chutney...loved the combo!!

Cheesy Masala Uttapam
Ingredients
  • 1 & 1/2 Cup Dosa Batter
  • 3 Tablespoons Grated Coconut
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1 Teaspoon Sugar
  • 4 Tablespoons Grated Mozarella Cheese
  • 2 small Green Chilies,finely chopped
  • 1/4th Cup Tomato,finely Chopped
  • 1/4th Cup Onion,finely Chopped
  • 2 Sprigs Cilantro,chopped
  • 1 Tablespoons Pav Bhaji Masala
  • Oil as per need
Instructions
In a bowl, add dosa batter.
Add salt,sugar,cilantro,green chillies,grated coconut.
Mix well.
Heat tava / flat griddle and apply some oil on to it.
Pour batter on the tava,required to make a medium sized uttapam.
Sprinkle shredded cheese on it.
Sprinkle chopped onion and tomatoes on it  and finally pav bhaji masala powder.
Cover the tava with lid and cook till done.
Serve with Garlic Chutney or any other dip of your choice.

Tips:

  • I made 2 Medium sized thick uttapams of this batter mixture. You can make the uttapams as per the size of uttapams you like.
  • I added the cheese more than 4 Tablespoons, but you can still use less or the same quantity.
