Paneer Chilli Dry

It's a lazy day as usual and didn't have any plans of preparing something tedious.... so opened refrigerator and looked in with a hope of finding something good!!!
Paneer was trying to put its hand up in a vain attempt that I will notice it....so finally I gave it a try :)

Me and my family are thorough non-vegetarians!! If you follow my posts regularly you must have noticed that till now most of my posts are about  non-vegetarian dishes.

Since one of my readers told me to prepare something vegetarian, so here's one post for all my vegetarian readers and also for those who love yummy food :)
Paneer Chili Dry....I loved it :) Hope u all too!!


Paneer Chilli Dry


Ingredients:

  • 14 cubes of Paneer
  • 1 Red Bell Pepper,diced
  • 1 Medium Onion ,diced
  • 1 Tbsp Cornstarch
  • 2 Green Chillies, slit
  • 2 Tbsp Garlic,chopped
  • 1 Tsp Ginger,chopped
  • 2 Scallions, chopped,keep white bulbs and greens separate
  • 1 /2 cup Warm water
  • 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp White Vinegar
  • 1 Tsp Red Chili Sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Hot and sweet Chili sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Black Pepper Powder
  • 1 Tsp Sugar
  • salt as per taste
  • oil for frying






 Method:
  • In a wok, add little oil and fry the paneer cubes till they are cooked and firm.
  • Drain them on paper towel and keep them aside.
  • In the same wok, add little oil , add ginger,garlic,onion,bell pepper,scallion whites and green chilli's. Fry  for 5 mins.
  • Add salt and sugar. Stir well.
  • To this add all sauces (i.e. soy sauce,red chili sauce,hot and sweet chili sauce,vinegar) and stir well.
  • Now mix the cornstarch with water. Add this to the veggies.
  • Cook the veggies till the veggies are cooked and gravy is reduced.
  • Add the paneer pieces to it.
  • Coat well with this mixture and cook for another 2 mins.
  • Garnish with scallion greens.
  • Serve hot with rice or noodles.


Tips:
  • Adjust the level of sauces and spices as per your requirement.
