Chocolate Glazed Doughnuts

Method:

  •  In a bowl mix yeast, water and 2tbsp sugar and leave it for some time till nice and frothy.
  •  Sieve together flour, baking soda, salt, remaining sugar for min 3 times.
  •  Mix together all dry ingredients with egg and knead it a bit. Here the mixture will be like corn flakes consistency.
  •  Add yeast mixture and margarine and knead well. If the dough is sticky then add little more flour and knead.
  •  Let it sit in a warm place for about 30 mins or till the dough rises.
  •  Once its double in size then apply little oil or butter to your hands and punch the dough.
  •  Make small dough balls and place on your palm and press it to make a patty.
  •  Now cut in to doughnut shapes using doughnut cutter or cookie cutter.
  •  Now cover this and let it sit for another 30 mins
  •  Now heat oil and deep fry the doughnuts.
  • Drain it on paper towel.

For Chocolate Glaze:
  •  Whisk together sugar, cocoa powder, salt, milk and vanilla extract in a bowl till its fluffy.
  •  Now Dip the doughnuts in the glaze and set it aside to set.
  • You can decorate glaze with sprinkles or powdered cocoa powder or any other option of your choice.

Tips:

  • For a healthier version you can use a doughnut pan and bake it instead. For this, to the doughnut batter initially, add 1/2 cup buttermilk or 1/2 cup whipped cream.
  • I covered some doughnuts with white chocolate too.

Enjoy Eating!! :)
